Lasting
memories of Mediterranean sunshine conjure up aromatic fragrances
of rich herbs. Planting them in your garden couldn't be simpler, giving
you an all year round supply of sunshine memories. |
|
| With good drainage
and plenty of light, they can be planted in containers as well as
being included in the beds. Herbs are reasonably cheap and work for
their place in the garden. They can be added as flavouring to most
types of foods, several are good salt and sugar substitutes, others
make soothing drinks, have medicinal remedies and beauty benefits. |

Rosemary and Garlic Butter
First mix chopped fresh rosemary and crushed garlic with softened
butter. Transfer the butter on to a sheet of greaseproof paper,
making the butter into a cylinder shape. Roll up and twist ends
(resembling a Christmas cracker shape). Refrigerate for a couple
of hours to harden up then cut up into slices. Fantastic on barbecued
lamb chops. (Can be kept up to a month in the refrigerator.)
