		Have you ever wondered what does 'Best Boy' or 'Key Grip' mean in the credits shown at the end of a film? Best Boy Is the chief assistant or second in command of a group. e.g. Best Boy Electric, Best Boy Grip. Grip Grips in the UK work solely with the equipment the camera is mounted on as opposed to the USA where a grip is responsible for the maintenance and adjustment of production equipment on the set. Key Grip The chief of a group of grips, and often a backup for the camera crew. Key grips work closely with the gaffer. Dolly Grip A grip that moves a dolly. A dolly is a small truck that rolls along dolly tracks carrying the camera. Dolly Tracks are a set of tracks upon which a camera can be moved. Gaffer A gaffer is the head of the electrical department, responsible for the design and execution of the lighting plan for a production. Swing Gang A swing gang are carpenters who build and take down the film sets. Lead Man The lead man is responsible for the swing gang and reports to the set decorator.
